The Design
The obverse showcases Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson on horseback, with the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” engraved at the top and flanked by stars. “STONE MOUNTAIN” and “1925” are inscribed on the lower left.
On the reverse side, a bald eagle is featured with outstretched wings perched on a mountain crag. Above the eagle are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
It also contains the inscription r “MEMORIAL TO THE VALOR OF THE SOLDIER OF THE SOUTH,” “LIBERTY,” and the coin’s face value of “HALF DOLLAR.”
