This product contains $10 face value of pre-1965 Franklin half dollars, and each $10 in face value contains approximately 7.15 ounces of pure silver. The coins are circulated so they will show signs of wear and vary slightly in condition and weight.

Like the Morgan Silver Dollar, 90% Junk Silver Coins are official US currency and thus can be used as a legal tender face value payment. However, given the silver bullion value contained within them, they are often saved and held for the long term.

Before 1965, official silver currency was minted in small fractional denominations. Since then, the US Mint switched to copper and nickel because minting coins with 90% silver proved too costly at this time. Investing in U.S. 90% constitutional silver coins is one of the most popular ways of purchasing physical silver as it is official US currency, and is typically available at very low premiums over spot.

The Franklin Half Dollar was minted from 1948-1963 and produced at various mint branches: Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. Respectively, this will mean that the coins will bear either no mint mark, a 'D' mint mark, or a 'S' mint mark. By purchasing 90% Silver Franklin Half Dollars, customers may receive any year and any mint mark based on currently available inventory.
