1916-1947 NGC MS-64 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Coin - Original Bag Fragment
The Walking Liberty coin was in circulation in the United States from 1916 to 1947 as the official half-dollar coin.
Made of a silver-copper alloy, it featured Adolph A. Weinman's iconic Walking Liberty design. Years later, the design was revived for the American Eagle Program and became the official obverse of U.S. Silver Eagles.
These specific half-dollar coins were taken from a fragment of the original shipping bag and later appraised by the NGC.
Today, SD Bullion offers Walking Liberty Half Dollar Coins graded by NGC as MS-64 samples. According to your inventory availability, they may have varied mintages from 1916 to 1947, randomly taken from our stocks.

The Design
The obverse features Lady Liberty walking toward the sun's rays, with the American flag draped over her shoulder and oak branches in one arm. Her other arm is extended in a gesture of welcome. The word "LIBERTY" curves above her, "IN GOD WE TRUST" is placed on the lower right, and the year of minting appears at the bottom edge.
On the reverse, a Bald Eagle is perched on a rock, wings poised for flight, with oak branches in its talons. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is inscribed at the top, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on the left, and the coin's denomination, "HALF-DOLLAR," is written beneath the eagle.
An NGC MS-64 Coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
