The Design

The obverse showcases Lady Liberty’s left-profile bust wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton balls and a tiara engraved “LIBERTY.” 

It also features the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies, and the year of issuance.

The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle with outstretched wings, arrows, and olive branches in its talons and laurels surrounding it. 

The motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and the “O” mint mark are also included.

NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins independently from sovereign mints. It uses the Sheldon Grading Scale to rank coins from 1 to 70.

MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business circulation sample format. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines but still have an attractive overall appearance.
