The Design

The reverse features the Bald Eagle with outstretched wings, arrows, and olive branches in its talons and laurels surrounding it.

The obverse showcases Lady Liberty’s effigy wearing a Phrygian cap embellished with wheat and cotton balls and a tiara inscribed “LIBERTY.” 

It also contains the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies and the year of issuance.
