1898-O PCGS MS-64 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin
The Morgan Silver Dollar was produced during a time of transition and optimism for the United States. It was minted during the height of the Gilded Age, a period marked by rapid economic growth, industrialization, and the rise of American cities.
Morgan Dollars were dollar coins in circulation in the United States from 1878 to 1904 and 1921. Designed by George T. Morgan, the US Mint produced these coins, each containing .7734 ounces of silver.
The coins were minted at various branches, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, San Francisco, and Carson City, the latter of which ceased its coinage operations in 1893.
Those issued in the New Orleans Mint carry the “O” mint mark.
Today, SD Bullion offers 1898-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, sealed and graded as MS-64 samples by PCGS.

A PCGS MS-64 coin
PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service is an independent third-party service that appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale. The scale ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
