1885-O PCGS MS-64 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin - Old Green Holder
Morgan Silver Dollars holds a piece of history that has endured for over a century.
The US Mint first crafted these coins between 1878 and 1904, in 1921, to be the US’ official dollar coin and, once more, in a commemorative strike for the centennial of its last issuance as a circulating coin.
The design was signed by US Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan, embodying their time's economic optimism and industrial growth.
Morgan Dollars were produced through several official branches over the years. Those issued in the New Orleans Mint carry the “O” mint mark.
At SD Bullion, you can find 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, graded as MS-64 samples and sealed in the rare Old Green Holders, which PCGS used to encapsulate coins from 1989 to 1998.

A PCGS MS-64 coin
PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
