1884-CC NGC MS-67 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin
The US Mint minted Morgan Silver Dollars, the official dollar coin of the United States, from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. Such was its popularity that the mint issued a commemorative bullion version in 2021 to mark the centennial of the last official minting of the circulating coin.
Named after its designer, George T. Morgan, the Morgan Dollar was struck at various US Mint locations, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, San Francisco, and Carson City until 1893, when coinage operations in this last facility ceased.
Morgan Dollars produced in Carson City from 1882 to 1884 were stockpiled in the US Treasury until the General Services Administration (GSA) was authorized to sell these hoarded silver dollars to the public in 1970. Consequently, these coins are available in extremely limited quantities and are highly prized by collectors.
Today, SD Bullion presents 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, graded and certified by NGC as MS-67 coins.

The design also incorporates the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies, and the year of issuance.
On the reverse side, the Bald Eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, clutching arrows, and olive branches in its talons, with laurels surrounding it. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR” encircle the entire design, while the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is inscribed above the eagle’s head.
An NGC MS-67 coin
NGC stands for Numismatic Guaranty Company. It works independently from sovereign mints, attributing grades to coins based on the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
MS means Mint State and describes a coin with a business circulation coin format. 67 is the grade attributed to coins with sharp strikes with full, original luster, some minor contact marks, and a single, more noticeable but not detracting mark.
