1881-S NGC MS-68 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin
Morgan Silver Dollars, named after their designer George T. Morgan, were produced from 1878 to 1921 and are prized for their historical importance and elegant design.
To honor their significance in American coinage, the US Mint released a commemorative bullion version in 2021, marking the 100th anniversary of the last official minting of the circulating coin.
Morgan Dollars were struck at various US Mint branches, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, San Francisco, and Carson City. Coinage operations at the Carson City facility ceased in 1893.
These coins, in particular, carry the “S” mint mark, identifying the San Francisco branch where they were produced.
1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, sealed in NGC slabs and graded as MS-68 coins, are available for purchase at SD Bullion.
