1880-S PCGS MS-64 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin - Old Green Holder
Morgan Dollars served as the circulating dollar coins in the US from 1878 to 1904. The US Mint crafted the with .7734 ounces of silver content and with George T. Morgan’s design for the most iconic symbols of American coinage.
In 1921, Morgan Dollars were reintroduced as widespread use of dollar coins, and in 2021, a special edition was issued to commemorate this centennial.
These coins were issued at several branches, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, San Francisco, and Carson City, which stopped minting in 1893. Coins with the "S" mint mark identify the San Francisco branch which issued them.
Today, you can find 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins at SD Bullion, graded as MS-64 samples and sealed in the rare Old Green Holders, which PCGS used to encapsulate coins from 1989 to 1998.

MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
