1880-S NGC MS-62 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin

Introduced in 1878, the Morgan Dollar quickly became a symbol of American prosperity, with each coin containing .7734 oz of 90% silver. Designed by George T. Morgan, it was the official dollar coin until 1904, with a final minting in 1921.

The Morgan Dollar's design and historical context make it a timeless piece of U.S. coinage.

Coins bearing the "S" mint mark are a distinctive sign of their origin at the San Francisco Mint.

At SD Bullion, you can acquire 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins, graded as MS-62 samples by NGC.

It also contains the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the “S” mint mark from the San Francisco Mint, and the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

An NGC MS-62 coin

Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.

An MS coin indicates a Mint State coin issued as a business circulation one. Grade 62 suggests that the coin may present marks and hairlines in focal areas, noticeable scuff marks, and below-average planchet quality. But acceptable overall appearance.
