1878 NGC MS-63 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin - 7 Tail Feathers
The first release of Morgan Dollar coins dates back to 1878. The US Mint produced them to serve as the circulating USD 1 coin, with .7734 oz of silver and an alluring design created by Geroge T. Morgan.
Right after the beginning of Morgan Dollars issuance, during the second week of production, the US Mint Superintendent Henry Linderman noticed a "slight imperfection" in the dies used to mint these silver coins. All previous designs of Bald Eagles in American coins featured an odd number of tail feathers. Because of that, Morgan Dollars had their reverse designs changed to reduce the number of tail feathers on the eagle from eight to seven.
Today, SD Bullion offers the debuting 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar, struck with 7 Tail Feathers, sealed and certified by NGC as MS-63 coins.

An NGC MS-63 Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale as a parameter. It works apart from sovereign mints, certifying coins from 1 to 70, according to their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business circulation sample format. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines but still have an attractive overall appearance.
