These coins are circulated but in VG+ (Very Good) condition and could be various dates and mints from 1922 - 1935. Peace Dollars were produced at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints. The mint mark will be on the reverse by the eagles tail if present (Philadelphia mint coins do not carry a mint mark).

The design of the coin features a youthful Lady Liberty on the obverse and perched Eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the word "Peace". The Peace Dollars markedly different appearance reflects a pivotal moment in US History. The coins were designed and produced to commemorate and celebrate the end of World War I. It was hoped that after the Great War, there would be a time of enduring peace in the world.

The US Mint held a competition with the spirit of selecting a design that would best showcase this theme of peace. The Commission of Fine Arts invited eight prominent sculptors to produce designs for the new coin. The eventual winner of the contest was 34 year old artist and sculptor Anthony de Francisci. Using his wife as a model for Lady Liberty, De Francisci set out to design a coin that would "capture the spirit of the country—its intellectual speed, vigor and vitality."
