To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army on June 14, 2025, the U.S. Mint has released a special edition American Silver Eagle, distinguished by a unique privy mark.

These US Silver Eagles, in particular, are proof coins produced in the West Point branch. Therefore, they showcase the “W” mint mark and a stunning mirror-like luster. They were also purchased before their official release and submitted to a PCGS appraisal.

The Design

It also displays the inscriptions 'LIBERTY,' 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' the coin’s year of issue, and the commemorative privy mark.

The reverse showcases a contemporary image of a Bald Eagle in mid-flight, clutching an oak branch in its talons. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” surround the depiction.

It also contains the “W” mint mark from the West Point branch.

A PCGS PR-70 “Advanced Releases” Coin 

PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.

According to PCGS, “Advanced Releases” coins refer to those purchased before release at their original mint.

PR stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes that exhibits mirror-like surfaces contrasting with frosted design elements. 70 is the highest grade on the scale attributed to flawless coins.
