Through iconic gold and silver coins, this series honors the long-lasting partnership between two of the world's most storied nations—The United States and The United Kingdom.

The combined talents of the Royal Mint and the US Mint Chief Engravers resulted in an alluring shared reverse design starring Britannia and Liberty.

Britannia and Liberty, symbols of strength and freedom, are enduring icons of the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively. These powerful female figures represent virtues that are fundamental to each nation's identity.

Britannia personifies resilience and fortitude, reflecting Britain's steadfast spirit. Liberty, rooted in the ideals of the Declaration of Independence, embodies the principle of freedom—one of the core values upon which the United States was founded and continues to uphold.

This coin, issued by the Royal Mint with a limited mintage of 50,000 coins, contains one ounce of 99.9% fine silver.

The Design

King Charles III’s official portrayal was designed by Martin Jennings. His Majesty’s left-profile bust is encircled by “CHARLES III,” the initials “D.G.REX.F.D,” which in Latin means “By the grace of God, King,” and “2 POUNDS,” for face value.

The reverse combines Britannia and Liberty’s depiction through a right-profile closeup, with heads in opposing orientations.

Britannia, designed by Royal Mint Chief Engraver Gordon Summers, wears a Corinthian helmet and carries a trident. Lady Liberty, created by US Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, holds a torch and has free-flowing, star-adorned hair.

The design is inscribed with “BRITANNIA AND LIBERTY,” and the coin’s information regarding issuance, weight, fineness, and metal content reads “2025,” “1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER.”
