The Design

The reverse design features Britannia, the female representation of the nation, holding the Union Jack Shield and a trident representing Great Britain’s naval history.

The inscriptions encircling the image are “‘BRITANNIA’ 2025’ 1 oz’ 999’ FINE’ SILVER’” referring to the series, issuance, weight, purity, and metal content, respectively.

Four different security features make the Silver Britannia one of the world's safest bullion coins against counterfeiting.

On the lower-left hand of the design, there is a trident head within a circle. The trident changes to a padlock when tilting the coin as it changes the perspective.

Another visual animation is included in the background. The waves come to life as the coin is tilted from one side to another.

Britannia’s Union Jack Shield is accented with tincture lines, and a micro inscription surrounds the imagery with the words “Decus et Tutamen,” which stands for “an ornament and a safeguard.”

The new obverse design depicts a Martin Jennings bust of King Charles III. The Latin inscription at the borders reads “CHARLES III - D - G - REX - F - D - 2 POUNDS - 2025,” which means ‘Charles III, by the Grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith.’
