The Design

The reverse depicts a cute baby snake wrapped in a colored trunk. The colored image stands out amidst the monochromatic backdrop. It is accompanied by a Chinese character, The engraving “ YEAR OF THE SNAKE,” and a discreet “P” mint mark on the left identifying the Perth Mint.

The obverse introduces King Charles III’s left profile bust, designed by Jody Clark. It is encircled by inscriptions reading “CHARLES III,” “TUVALU” on top, “1/2 oz 9999 Ag”, and “50 CENTS” on the bottom rim, referring to the coin’s weight, fineness, metal content, and face value. 

Because it is a proof coin, the blank surfaces exhibit a mirror-like luster, while the design elements are matte.
