The Design

Replicating the original design, the obverse depicts Lady Liberty's right-profile effigy surrounded by 15 stars. They represent the fifteen states that had ratified the Constitution by 1794. It also features the “LIBERTY” inscription and includes an updated “2024” date.

The reverse showcases a laurel wreath surrounding an eagle with spread wings in the center, an early predecessor of the American heraldic eagle, along with the inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

The design was imprinted in high relief, so the artistic elements surpassed the coin’s edges, producing a 3-D effect.

An NGC PF-70 “First Day of Issue” Coin 

NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company is a renowned third-party service that works independently from sovereign mints. Using the Sheldon Grading Scale, NGC appraises and grades coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.

According to NGC, a “First Day of Issue” is a coin purchased from its original mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.

The initials PF stand for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes. It exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. Grade 70 is attributed to flawless coins.
