The Design

Dan Thorne’s official portrait of King Charles III features the obverse design. It consists of an elegant left-profile bust encircled by the inscriptions “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1 oz 9999 Ag,” and “1 DOLLAR,” which describe the coin’s origin, weight, purity, metal content, and face value.

The reverse design features symbols of romance and peace. It includes two doves, floral decorations, and a golden symbol of infinity. 

The inscriptions that accompany these symbols start with “two hearts—two lives” on top, “One Love” in a mid-position, the “P” mint mark from the Perth Mint on the lower right, and the year of issuance at the bottom rim.

Because it is a proof coin, it exhibits a mirror-like luster, highlighting each design element engraved on the coin’s surfaces.
