The Design

The 2 oz Silver Libertads feature eleven versions of the Mexican Coat of Arms on the obverse. 

The current seal is surrounded by the words “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” and the previous ten seals. And they all display the national Eagle defeating the rattlesnake, representing the Mexican superiority over the Spanish colonial rule. 

The Angel of Victory is depicted in the reverse design. The image is completed by the engravings “2 ONZAS PLATA PURA 2023 LEY .999,” referring to the coin’s weight, metal content, year of issuance, and purity. The “M” on the right is the Mexican Mint mintmark.

A Proof Coin
