The Design

The obverse showcases a contemporary version of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of stars. The image is a joint effort of artists Phebe Hemphill and Justin Kunz, whose initials flank Liberty’s bust. 

It also contains the word “LIBERTY” engraved on top, “2018” aside, and the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” at the bottom.

The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle flying. Chris Costello and Michael Gaudioso are the artists responsible for this design, whose initials are beneath the bird.

Additional inscriptions read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The description of weight, purity, and metal content is on the left, near the “W” mint mark, and reads: “1/10 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD.” At the bottom, the coin’s face value reads ‘10 DOLLARS.'
