Another year brings another much-awaited annual bullion coin release to the precious metals market. The United States Mint has released the 2018 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins -- part of the long-running prestigious American Silver Eagle coin program.
Each of these coins is struck using 1 troy ounce of 0.999 pure silver. Moreover, the United States Government also assigns a $1 (USD) face value to these coins.
Known for sublime quality and craftsmanship, the United States Mint is considered one of the most premier sources of precious metals products in the world. Their products usually showcase designs that speak to Americans – celebrating its history, culture, or even iconic symbols. The US Mint was established in 1792, and has continually impressed collectors and investors with quality precious metals products over more than 225 years of operation.
While the obverses of these coins display the familiar Walking Liberty depiction designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, the reverses feature the famed Heraldic Eagle design, created by John Mercanti in 1986, who was the Chief Engraver at the US Mint at the time.
Not only are these Silver Eagles part of the most popular silver coin program in the world, but they also feature extremely low premiums over the silver spot price. The combination of pure silver and beautiful designs makes these 2018 1 oz American Silver Eagles, like all other Silver Eagles before them, one of the most sought after annual releases in the world.
