2014 PCGS MS-69 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin

American Silver Eagles are the official silver coin in the US. The US Mint first struck them in 1986 as the debuting coin of the American Eagle Program, along with the Gold Eagle coin.

These coins are bullion versions, containing 1 Troy oz of 99.9% fine silver and featuring the “Walking Liberty” design, created by Adolph A. Weinman, which initially stamped the 1917 Half-Dollar Coin.

You can acquire 2014 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins, sealed in PCGS slabs and certified as MS-69 samples at SD Bullion.

Coin Highlights

  • Evaluated, encapsulated, and certified as MS-69 coins by PCGS;
  • Contains 1 oz of .999 fine silver;
  • Bullion coin;
  • Produced by the US Mint;
  • Holds USD 1 and legal tender status;
  • The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s Lady Liberty;
  • The reverse showcases Jonh Mercanti’s Heraldic Eagle;
  • IRA eligible.

The Design

The obverse design showcases Lady Liberty enveloped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun's rays, hence the moniker “The Walking Liberty.”

Lady Liberty carries oak and laurel branches in one hand and stretches the other in a warm welcome sign. The design is complemented by the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of mintage.

The reverse was designed by Chief Engraver John Mercanti. It displays a Heraldic Eagle with the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak.

The Thirteen pointed stars in a triangular format over the Heraldic Eagle represent the original colonies. It also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR,” describing the face value, weight, metal content, and purity data.

A PCGS MS-69 coin

PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
