2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame $5 Commemorative Gold Coin with Box and COA

The US Mint celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014 by releasing an exceptional strike of commemorative bullion coins.

These coins have a $5 face value. Each coin weighs .24187 Troy oz of actual gold content, boasting a unique design with a concave obverse and a convex reverse, featuring the most fundamental equipment used in baseball.

In addition, they bear the “W” mint mark, identifying the West Point branch that struck them.

Today, SD Bullion offers 2014 American National Baseball Hall of Fame $5 Gold Commemorative Coins, housed in a customized presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Design

This was the first curved coin produced by the US Mint.

The obverse is concave, reproducing the unique format of a baseball glove. The words “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2014” are inscribed inside the glove’s depiction.

The reverse design is convex in the shape of a baseball. The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” are engraved on the upper part, while the coin’s face value of “FIVE DOLLARS” is on the other half of the imprinted ball.

The “W” mint mark from the West Point branch can be seen at the lower left.
