Purchase a 1/2 oz US Commemorative Arts Gold Medal (Random Design) today!
Prior to the 1986 launch of the American Gold Eagle program, Commemorative Arts Gold Medals were the only means for gold buyers to get their hands on US Mint gold. With these 1/2 oz US Commemorative Arts Gold Medal (Random Design) from SD Bullion, you may revisit the glory days before the American Gold Eagle.
Those who have made important contributions to the arts were rewarded with commemorative medals. Only 5 variations exist because they were issued annually between 1980 and 1984. They include well-known artist Grant Wood (1980), well-known novelist Mark Twain (1981), well-known musician Louis Armstrong (1982), ageless poet Robert Frost (1983), and well-known actress Helen Hayes (1984).
Each medal is made from ½ troy ounce of 90 percent (0.900) pure gold. They also have no face value, unlike modern American Gold Eagles. Instead, their obverses feature a beautiful portrayal of Americans who have made significant contributions to the arts. These designs were created by John Mercanti (at the time, the US Mint's Chief Engraver) and Frank Gasparro for use on these medals.
On the reverse, an image showcases the specialty of the personality on the obverse. For example, the Louis Armstrong medal features his favorite instrument -- the trumpet.
Add 90 percent pure gold to your precious metals portfolio with these 1/2 oz US Commemorative Arts Gold Medal (Random Design) from SD Bullion, while recognizing highly acclaimed experts that dramatically transformed their industries. Although we cannot guarantee the medal you will receive, you can rest assured that it will be an authentic US Mint Commemorative Medal made between 1980 and 1984
