2006-W 1 oz American Silver Eagle Burnished Coin with Box and COA
The 2006 edition of US Silver Eagles marked the 20th anniversary of the American Eagles Program.
US Silver Eagles are imprinted with some of the most iconic symbols of American patriotism, embodying the core values of the Founding Fathers.
Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty, originally from the 1917 Half-Dollar coin, US Chief Engraver John Mercanti’s Heraldic Eagle enhances the Silver Eagle design.
These Silver Eagles are Burnished samples minted at the West Point branch and bear the “W” mint mark. The blanks used in their making underwent a special treatment process called burnishing, which cleans them from undesired oxides, resulting in a matte finish with more vivid design details.
At SD Bullion, you can acquire the 2006-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles housed in an original mint box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Design
The obverse portrays Lady Liberty enveloped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun with an outstretched arm and oak branches in the other.
Along with the renowned artistry, the word “LIBERTY” is inscribed at the top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the lower right, with the “W” West Point mint mark beneath it, and the year of issuance at the bottom rim.
The reverse Heraldic eagle design starts with 13 stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The Eagle has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak.
The coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity are inscribed as "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
Burnished Coins
A Burnished American Eagle Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
