Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty has the American flag draped on her shoulder, oak and laurel branches in one arm, and the other stretched in a welcome sign to those looking for a new home in America.

The inscriptions that complete the design read “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance.

Because it is a proof coin, its surfaces exhibit a mirror-like luster, which contrasts with the design’s frosted image.
