NGC/PCGS MS-65 $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coin - Random Year
Liberty Eagle gold coins were the circulating $10 coin in the US from 1838 to 1907 when they were replaced by the $10 Indian Head Gold Coin.
Christian Gobrecht, the third Chief Engraver of the US Mint, designed both sides of the $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coin, showcasing Lady Liberty and the Eagle, two icons of American coinage.
Several Liberty Eagle Gold Coins disappeared during the 1929 economic collapse. Because of their gold content, which corresponded to .4837 oz of actual gold, they were confiscated, hoarded, and melted down, severely decreasing the number of Pre-1933 Gold Coins available in the market.
At SD Bullion, you can find $10 Liberty Eagle Gold Coins of varied mintages, graded as MS-65 coins, by either NGC or PCGS.

The Design
On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted wearing a coronet inscribed "LIBERTY." Her bust is surrounded by thirteen stars, symbolizing the original thirteen colonies and the year of mintage.
The reverse depicts the Heraldic Eagle, which bears the national shield on its chest, arrows and oak branches in its talons, and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on a banner above.
Encircling the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TEN D.," indicating the coin's face value.
An NGC/PCGS MS-65 Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) and PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Services) are independent third-party services that appraise and grade coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale as a parameter, apart from sovereign mints.
For both, an MS-65 coin means that the analyzed coin has the same format as a business coin that still displays high-quality luster despite its aged mintage. Minor contact marks and scatters may be noticeable, but the coin has an overall quality above the average.
