2025 NGC MS-70 FIRST30™ 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coin

US Gold Eagles are the official gold bullion coins of the United States, produced in various sizes and finishes. The 1/10 oz Gold Eagle is the smallest in the series. It features a $5 face value, legal tender status, and a full tenth ounce of gold reinforced with copper for durability.

Following the series standards, it showcases the iconic Lady Liberty design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the obverse and the majestic Bald Eagle on the reverse, reflecting the rich heritage of American coinage.

The Design

The obverse shows Lady Liberty walking forward with the sun's rays in the background. She holds a torch and an olive branch in her hands, representing development, light, and peace. 

It also displays the word “LIBERTY” engraved on top, the year of issuance on the lower right, and the US Capitol Building imprinted on the lower left.

The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle in a frontal close-up, highlighting its hooked beak and a staring gaze. 

The coin’s face value, weight, and metal content are inscribed as “5 DOLLARS” and “1/10 OZ FINE GOLD.” Additional engravings read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) uses the Sheldon Grading Scale to evaluate and attribute grades to coins.

MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no sign of wear, tear, or scratching, which grants it a 70 grade.
