2025 NGC MS-70 Early Release 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coin
The US Mint commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the American Eagle Program in 2025. The US Gold Eagle coin was the program's debuting gold coin, along with its silver counterpart, the US Silver Eagle.
US Gold Eagles are struck from 22k gold and contain a full troy ounce of gold, making them slightly larger than traditional one-ounce gold coins. The alloy contains 3% silver and 5,33% copper for added durability.
They are stamped with Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty design, used in the 1907 $20 Double Eagle design, and especially rescued to be on Gold Eagles and Jenni Norris’ Eagle design.
Today, at SD Bullion, you can purchase 2025 1 oz American Gold Eagles, purchased within 30 days of their official release and graded as MS-70 coins by NGC.

An NGC MS-70 Early Releases Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) operates independently of sovereign mints, evaluating and grading coins. Utilizing the Sheldon Scale, a grading system from 1 to 70, they meticulously assess coins based on their condition.
According to NGC, “Early Releases” refers to coins purchased from their original mints within the first 30 days of their official release and submitted to its appraisal.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
