2024-S PCGS PR-70 UC First Day of Issue Peace Dollar Proof Silver Coin - FDI Label
The U.S. Mint marked the end of World War I with a specially designed silver coin symbolizing faith and restoration.
The Peace Dollar, introduced in 1921, served as the official U.S. dollar coin until 1928 and again between 1934 and 1935.
A special edition was issued in 2021 to honor the 100th anniversary of its first release, but due to its popularity, it became a regular production.
The proof finish on these coins accentuates the intricate details of Lady Liberty's peaceful expression and the majestic perched eagle.
Coins produced at the San Francisco Mint feature the "S" mint mark.
Today, at SD Bullion, you can acquire 2024-S Peace Dollar Proof Silver Coins, purchased from the US Mint on day #1 of their official release. They are graded as PR-70 UC samples and sealed in PCGS slabs with First Day of Issue Labels.

The Design

The reverse is a depiction of a peaceful bald eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talon. It also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.” The “S” mint mark is near the coin’s face value.
A PCGS PR-70 UC First Day of Issue coin
PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service appraises and grades coins independently from sovereign mints. It uses the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
According to PCGS, a “First Day of Issue” coin is a sample purchased on the first day they were made publicly available.
The initials PR stand for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes. It exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements.
The expression “UC,” “UCAM,” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins. Grade 70 is attributed to flawless coins.
