2024-S PCGS PR-70 First Day of Issue 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin - John Dannreuther Signed Label
One of the best-selling silver coins worldwide, the American Silver Eagle reflects the nation’s core values through their designs signed by Adolph A. Weinman and Emily Damstra.
In addition to the bullion version, the US Mint produces American Silver Eagles in a proof finish, highlighting the design's most intricate details.
This piece, in particular, is Proof Silver Eagle issued in the San Francisco Mint and bears the “S” mint mark.
This coin was purchased from the US Mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to PCGS for certification with the hand-signed John Dannreuther label, available exclusively at SD Bullion.

The Design
The obverse reproduced the Walking Liberty design from the 1917 Half-Dollar coin, designed by Adolph A. Weinman.
In the image, Lady Liberty has the American flag draped over her shoulder as she walks toward the sun while carrying oak branches. Her extended right arm symbolizes a welcoming gesture. It also contains the word "LIBERTY," the year of issuance, and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST."
Emily Damstra designed the reverse Bald Eagle perched on a branch with its wings spread. It is also engraved with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," "1 OZ," and "FINE SILVER," indicating the coin’s face value, weight, and metal content, along with the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
The "S" mint mark from the San Francisco Mint completes the design.
An NGC PF-70 First Day of Issue Coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company works independently from sovereign mints to certify coins using the Sheldon Scale. The scale ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue,” a coin purchased from the US Mint on the very first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.
PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements.
