2024-S NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue Peace Dollar Proof Silver Coin - FDI Label
To honor the end of World War I, the U.S. Mint issued a silver coin symbolizing hope and renewal. The Peace Dollar, first minted in 1921, served as the official dollar coin in circulation until 1928, with a brief reissue from 1934 to 1935.
The US Mint struck a special edition in 2021 to celebrate its centennial, and its popularity ensured it remained in production.
The proof finish on these coins highlights the graceful image of Lady Liberty and the detailed depiction of a perched eagle. Coins produced at the San Francisco Mint bear the “S” mint mark.
Today, SD Bullion offers 2024-S Peace Dollar Proof Silver Coins, purchased from the US Mint on day #1 of their official release. They are graded as PF-70 UC samples and sealed with First Day of Issue Labels in NGC slabs.

The Design
Peace Dollars were designed by artist Anthony de Francisci in 1921.

The reverse depicts a peaceful bald eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talon.
Further engravings read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.” The “S” mint mark is near the coin’s face value.
An NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company), which operates independently of sovereign mints, appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from its original mint on the very first day of its official release.
The initials PF stand for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes. It exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements.
The expression “UC,” “UCAM,” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins. Grade 70 is attributed to flawless coins.
