The Design

Saint-Gaudens designed Lady Liberty walking forward, carrying a torch and an olive branch, symbolizing the nation's evolution toward progress, peace, and enlightenment. 

It is supplemented by the word “LIBERTY,” The Capitol Building imprinted on the lower left, and the coin’s mint year on the right.

Jennie Norris displayed the majestic bald eagle in a close-up depiction with a deep gaze and a highlighted hooked beak.

The engravings on this side start with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” followed by the coin’s description of weight, metal content, and face value, which reads “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD—10 DOLLARS”
