The ocelot, similar in size to a bobcat, inhabits forests and shrublands from southern Texas to northern Argentina. This nocturnal hunter uses sharp vision and hearing to catch prey like rodents, snakes, and birds. Without chewing teeth, it tears food apart and swallows it whole.
