The Design

The 1 oz Silver Libertad has a unique depiction of the Mexican Coat of Arms on the obverse.

The current seal occupies a central position, encircled by the other ten previous seals. In all of them, the superior Eagle is in battle position, defending the nation against foreign domination. 

The central Coat of Arms has “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” engraved around it and has the Eagle perched on a pear cactus eating a rattlesnake.

The reverse features the Monument of Freedom located in Mexico City, in which the Angel of Victory lies on top, with arms and wings open, with two folk mountains, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, in the background. 

The inscriptions on this side refer to the coin’s weight, metal content, fineness, and year of issuance. They read “1 ONZA PLATA PURA 2024 LEY .999.” And the “M” on the right refers to the Mint’s mintmark.
