Into the Wild is one of CIT’s silver coin series that honors endangered species around the globe and the efforts made to rebound the animal population.

The 3rd edition of the series features the Bison, a native of the North American winter habitat and a symbol of raw power and untamed wilderness. Previous issues showcased the Bear and the Lion, respectively.

The series comprises two-ounce silver coins minted with CIT’s Smartminting® Technology, colored details, and proof finish.

The Design

The obverse is a monochromatic silver surface, stamping the seal of the Mongol Bank and essential information.

The coin’s face value is beneath the seal. At the bottom, the engravings “MONGOLIA 2 oz .9999 SILVER” correspond to the coin’s origin, weight, fineness, and metal content.

On the reverse, the Bison has a full-body depiction in an upstanding position. It is a heavy animal with huge horns and a massive hump. Its primary brown color is interrupted by the winter scenery engraved on its body as a reference to its native habitat.

Because it is a proof coin, the dies received a previous special polishment. Therefore, the blank background exhibits a bright mirror-like luster.
