2022 1/10 oz Gold Libertad Coins
Adding precious metals to diversify an investment portfolio may be an exciting idea since bullion tends to remain valuable over the years. Silver and gold coins offer this possibility of input to collectors and investors. Specially fractional coins, like the 1/10 oz Gold Libertads, usually offer lower premiums than heavier coins.
Gold Libertad Series offers a wide variety of coins, which carry high levels of gold content and the traditional name of the Mexican Mint.
With this year's mintage level expected to be similar to last year's limit of just 850 coins, these are not expected to last long!

Legal Tender Status
Unlike traditional coins, Gold Libertads are devoid of face value but are legal tender.
Usually, gold coins carry a face value or denomination imprinted on one of their sides. Mexican Gold Libertads, like the South African Gold Krugerrands, do not. The Mexican federal government guarantees these coins, which contain 1/10 troy ounce of 99.9% pure gold based on their weight in gold and the current spot gold price.
The Design
Gold Libertad’s design reflects the Centenario of the Mexican Independence from Spain in 1810. The obverse features the current nation’s seal: the Mexican Eagle eats a rattlesnake while perched in a prickly cactus. The only inscription found on this side is “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.”
The reverse showcases the Winged Victory, the symbol of freedom that became a monument to celebrate this landmark in Mexico City. In the image, she carries a wreath crown in her right hand and broken chains of slavery in her left hand. The inscription on this side refers to the coin’s identity: weight, metal content, purity, and year of issuance.
