The Design

The obverse portrays Lady Liberty, the national feminine personification, walking forward, carrying a torch and an olive branch, symbolizing the nation's march towards progress, peace, and enlightenment.

The Capitol Building is imprinted on the lower left, the word “LIBERTY” on top, the coin’s mintage year to the right, and the “W” mint mark below the date. Stars encircle the whole design.

The V75 privy mark on the right is shaped like the Rainbow Pool at West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C.

The reverse depicts a female Eagle cherishing its hatchling under her wing while the male Eagle perches their nest. 

The accompanying inscriptions refer to “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” with weight, metal content, and face value engraved at the bottom rim.
