The 2020 Germania Silver Proof Rounds features one of the most stunning silver round designs of 2020. The design was voted on by bullion investors in an online vote conducted by the Germania Mint, so it is sure to be popular with investors and collectors alike.

For those unfamiliar with proof rounds, “proof” means that the round is minted with a higher level of quality and will have an exquisitely detailed design with a mirror-like finish. The Germania Proof is limited to just 1,000 minted worldwide. Like its BU counterpart, the 2020 Proof Germania will come in a custom capsule along with its own display box.

The silhouette of the feminine personification of Germania on the 2020 round is depicted in a dignified pose with a windblown cape. Lady Germania is accompanied by the two-headed eagle – a symbol from Germanic mythology, associated with Janus, the god of all origins, guardian of doors, gates, passages and bridges, the patron of contracts and alliances. The eagle’s heads facing the opposite symbolize the past and the future.

On the other side, the reverse features the Bicephalous (2-headed) Eagle -- a symbol associated with the Roman God Janus, the God of all origins, doorways, and contracts. The heads facing opposite directions are said to symbolize the past and the present.
