2013 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strike 5 oz America The Beautiful Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Silver Coin

The US Mint introduced the America The Beautiful Quarter Program in 2010. The program delivered five different designs every year, in both a circulating clad version, and a 5 Troy ounce version of 99.9% fine silver.

This pace continued until 2021, with 56 silver coins stamped with the most iconic American national sites.

The Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Coin is the second release of the 2013 edition and the 17th overall in the series.

Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio commemorates the Battle of Lake Erie from the War of 1812 and represents lasting peace between Britain, Canada, and the United States. The memorial features a 352-foot Doric column overlooking Lake Erie, close to the world’s longest undefended border. Named in honor of Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry, it also serves as the burial site for six naval officers—three American and three British—who died in the battle.

At SD Bullion, you can acquire 2013 5 oz America The Beautiful Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Silver Coins, purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of its public release. They are sealed and certified by PCGS as MS-69 DMPL coins.

The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR” accompany the image.

The reverse displays the statue of Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry, with the Peace Memorial, one of the tallest in the U.S., in the distance.

The image includes "PERRY'S VICTORY," "OHIO," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and “2013.”

A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin

Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) works independently of sovereign mints. It evaluates and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which rates coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.

PCGS calls “First Strikes” the coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of the official release and submitted to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins. Grade 69 is attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.

According to PCGS, DMPL stands for Deep Mirror Proof-Like and refers to coins struck for circulation but with unusual mirror-like fields and frosted design details that are very similar to Proof coins.
