2012 NGC MS-69 First Releases 5 oz America the Beautiful Denali Silver Coin
The America The Beautiful Quarter Program consists of crafting five quarter dollar coins annually containing 5 Troy oz of 99.9% fine silver and America’s most iconic natural sites.
The Denali Silver Coin was the fifth coin released in 2012 and the 15th in the series.
Denali National Park and Preserve was initially known as Mount McKinley National Park in Alaska in 1917. The name changed in 1980 with further preserved lands added in 1980. The park's ever-changing glaciated landscape is home to diverse wildlife, including grizzly bears, caribou, wolves, Dall sheep, and moose. Archaeological evidence dating back over 12,000 years shows that Alaska's native people seasonally traversed this area, likely hunting large mammals, fishing, and gathering plants.
You can find the 2012 5 oz America the Beautiful Denali Silver Coin, purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of their official release, sealed and certified by NGC as MS-69 First Releases coins.
