The Design
The obverse portrays Lady Liberty walking forward carrying a torch and an olive branch, representing the nation's future progress with enlightenment and peace.
The design is inscribed with “LIBERTY” on top, the Capitol Building is imprinted on the lower left, and the year of issuance is on the right.
The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle flying above the sun accompanied by the engravings “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TWENTY DOLLARS.”
