1905-S PCGS MS-62 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin 

For over 50 years, the Liberty Double Eagles served as the US official $20 coin. The US Mint first released them containing .9675 oz of gold in 1850, stamping and alluring design created by James B. Longacre, the fourth Chief Engraver of the US Mint.

Several official branches crafted $20 Liberty Double Eagle coins, and those issued by the San Francisco Mint bear the “S” mint mark on the reverse side.

The Design

On the obverse, Lady Liberty’s portrayal includes a tiara inscribed "LIBERTY," thirteen six-pointed stars representing the original Thirteen Colonies and the year of mintage.

The reverse that depicts the Heraldic Eagle with spread wings has arrows in its talons, the national shield on its chest, and the banner "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. 

The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the coin's face value of "TWENTY DOLLARS" complete the image.
