1897 NGC MS-63 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin
The US Mint crafted Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins to serve as the official $20 coin in the US from 1850 to 1907.
These coins contain .9675 oz of gold and display James B. Longacre’s design, the fourth Chief Engraver of the US Mint.
Like other pre-1933 gold coins, many $20 Liberty Double Eagles vanished during the economic downturn of the 1930s. As gold prices increased, these coins were confiscated, hoarded, and melted down for their gold content.
Today, SD Bullion has 1897 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins in stock, sealed and certified by NGC as MS-63 coins.

An NGC MS-63 Coin
NGC stands for Numismatic Guaranty Company. It is an internationally recognized third-party service that works independently from sovereign mints to appraise and grade coins based on the Sheldon Grading Scale.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business circulation sample format that remained uncirculated. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines but still have an attractive overall appearance.
