The obverse portrays Lady Liberty’s effigy, wearing a coronet inscribed “LIBERTY.” The stars surrounding her bust represent the Thirteen Original Colonies, and the year of mintage is inscribed at the bottom.
The reverse features the Heraldic Eagle with outstretched wings, the national shield on its chest, arrows, and an olive branch on its talons.
The inscriptions are limited to the nation’s name and the coin’s face value.
