The Design

The obverse showcases Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design. Lady Liberty, the feminine personification of the nation, walks toward the sun's rays, hence its moniker.

In the image, she has a stretched arm, the American flag draped on her shoulder, and oak branches on her arm. The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed on top, “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the lower right, followed by Weinman’s initials, and “2024” is on the bottom rim.

The reverse design, introduced in 2021 by Emily Damstra in the Silver Eagles, showcases a Bald Eagle perching on a branch. The coin’s weight, metal content, and purity information are: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER,” and encircle the image.

A PCGS PR-70 Advanced Release Coin

The Sheldon Scale is a grading system recognized worldwide that ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition. Third-party grading services, like PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service, use the scale to evaluate and certify the coins independently of sovereign mins.

According to the PCGS, “Advanced Release” designates coins that were appraised and certified before the first day of issue at the US Mint. These coins underwent a special and thorough appraisal process within PCGS to earn the stamp of “Advance Release” coins.

Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no sign of wear, tear, or scratching, which grants it a 70 grade.
