PCGS MS-64 1932 $10 Indian Eagle Gold Coin
The 1932 $10 Indian Head Eagle Gold Coin is a landmark in American coinage because it was the last year before the US was taken off the gold standard.
The US Mint produced Indian Gold Eagle Coins from 1907 to 1919 and then irregularly until 1933 through several of its branches. It was the official $10 currency in the US, with legal tender status, .48375 oz of actual gold content, and Augustus Saint-Gaudens' design.
Despite the Great Depression of the 1930s, the $10 Indian Eagle Coin saw its highest-ever mintage of 4,463,000 units in 1932, all of which were issued from the Philadelphia Mint. However, due to a Presidential decree in 1933, many of these coins were confiscated and melted down, which severely diminished the number of 1932 Indian Head Eagle coins.
Today, you can buy 1932 $10 Indian Eagle Gold Coins, sealed in PCGS slabs and graded as MS-64 coins at SD Bullion.
