PCGS MS-63 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin - Rattler Holder - Random Year
Between 1850 and 1907, the Liberty Double Eagle served as the official $20 circulating coin of the United States. Produced by the US Mint, each coin holds .9675 Troy oz of gold and showcases a design by James B. Longacre, the Mint’s fourth Chief Engraver.
Like many other Pre-1933 gold coins, a large number of these pieces were lost during the economic upheaval of the 1930s, making surviving examples especially rare and valuable.
SD Bullion offers $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins, sealed in PCGS Rattler Holders and certified as MS-63, of assorted mint years.

The Design
The obverse depicts Lady Liberty wearing a tiara engraved with “LIBERTY.” Her effigy, designed by James B. Longacre, is encircled by the thirteen six-pointed stars that refer to the Thirteen Original Colonies and the year of issuance.
The reverse showcases the Heraldic Eagle with spread wings, the national shield in front of its chest, arrows in its talons, and the banner “E PLURIBUS UNUM” in its beak.
Design variation on the reverse can be observed, for example, the presence or absence of the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” above the Eagle and the coin’s denomination engraved at the bottom, in some written “TWENTY DOLLARS,” while in others, “TWENTY D.”
A PCGS MS-63 Coin
PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is an independent third-party company that appraises and grades coins based on the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
According to the scale, MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business sample format. Grade 63 indicates that the coin may present marks and minor visible hairlines.
