Gold Aurum Utah 1 Goldback Note (24K)
Investors and collectors are not restricted to gold coins or bars to acquire physical gold bullion for their portfolios. They can also invest in Goldback notes.
Goldback notes reproduce paper currency but with no dollar legal tender. Except for specific states within the US, which accept Goldback Notes as a legal form of payment, they are more valuable for the 24k gold content of their composition.
In addition, each denomination displays an exquisite design embedded with symbols that resemble the American state they represent.
Thus, Goldback Notes may be an attractive choice for investors and collectors who want precious metals diversification in their portfolios.

The Design
The Notes feature exclusive designs only on the obverse side. Their reverse side is a mirror image of the obverse, featuring only the imprint.
It is standard for all Goldback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure representing a cardinal virtue. The virtues and their depiction vary according to the state series.
The design features a Native American woman dressed in the style of many of the tribes in Utah including the Ute, Paiute, Goshute, Shoshone, and the Navajo. She is meant to represent the virtue of prudence as she gazes into a mirror and sits upon a stone elevated beside a howling wolf, with the word “Prudentia” written next to her. There are other clues to the Utah landscape such as the flock of geese and canyons behind her. The artwork on the goldback is full of intricate details and symbolism for customers that collect these notes.
The “1” denomination lies on the top left, beside the note’s origin. On the bottom, metal content description and the phrase, “Deal Prudently” can be found.
Goldback Notes
Goldback Notes were created to be a parallel local currency and are accepted as a form of payment only in Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wyoming. Specifically, the Utah Legal Tender Act passed in 2011 recognizes gold and silver bullion, including these goldbacks, as legal tender in the state of Utah.
They bear no dollar legal tender. But, they are made from .999 pure gold paint covered by two polyester layers applied to a plastic film, which makes them valuable as a bullion item.
Their shape reproduces regular currency paper money, with sizes ranging from 1/1000th oz to 1/20th oz, according to their 1 to 50 denominations and proportionally to their gold content.
The year of mintage may vary based on currently available supply.
